BL single family house: a contemporary house and shop
Client dreams was working and living at home. So we got inspired by the medieval house layout with the workshop on the ground floor and the apartment on the upper floors: this is a smart way to deal with work and family at the same time. In the interior design project, a glass staircase allows the owners to see who enters even from the top floor. This custom-made scale, with its unusual material and design, intimidates guests, but it is only a tactic, to ensure that they access the most private part of the house with consideration.
BL single family house: a dream to realize
The BL single family house is located in the northern part of the municipality of Pergine, on a mainly flat ground. From the area one can enjoy a beautiful view of the castle and the parish church of Pergine, of the Brenta chain and other low mountains, the amount of sun is ideal all year round, allowed by the mountain silhouette and the surrounding buildings. The project involves the building renovation and expansion of a building of the 60s, arranged over two floors and an attic, to meet the needs of the new owners. The volume consists of a main building with three floors.
BL single family house: our project between architecture, interior design, outdoor spaces design and construction
The uniqueness of the site and the existing buildings have been an inspiration to design a very compact, low and articulated volume. To visually reduce the size and impact of the main front, loggias instead of balconies were used and the second floor, destined to be covered by a pitched roof, was transformed into an open space with a veranda. Outside, the intervention is characterized by large windows with shading: they allow both to benefit from the solar contribution in the winter and the protection from overheating in the summer, and to fully enjoy the beautiful landscape. On the roof of the veranda, solar panels are installed with the same tilt of the roof, to virtually ensure no visual impact.
The facades, the outdoor curtains, the low emission wooden windows have only one colour, the white, this colour is not used for any of the neighbouring buildings. The sums of the different colour of the neighbouring buildings is displayed exactly by the white colour which has the characteristic of containing all the colour of the electromagnetic spectrum. The property has a basement with a storage and a technical room, a ground floor with garage, an entrance hall with closets, storage, meanwhile the first floor is designed to accommodate the family. The vertical connecting element, the stairway, located in a barycentric position, allows to fully maximize the surface intended for the house.
The goal of having an energy-saving building is achieved through the rationalization of the internal distribution, providing the volume with large openings in the south-east side, to benefit the most from the winter sun, while the loggias protect the house from the summer overheating.
